Spybot Search & Destroy is a spyware detection and removal utility with real-time protection and the option to set up regularly scheduled scans. Search & Destroy is designed to target adware and spyware, dialers, keyloggers and trojans and remove them. It can optionally also be set to remove any usage tracks left by users who wish for increased privacy on their system. The database of threats can also be updated by users and updates are released on a weekly basis. These updates can be automated and notifications can be sent to users via email.

Spyware Terminator is also a spyware detection and removal utility and also features real-time protection and regular scans. In addition to the standard full-scan mode, Spyware Terminator also features a Fast Scan feature and customizable scanning options for more focused removal of spyware. The right-click context menu can also be optionally customized to allow direct scanning of any vile viewed in Windows Explorer. Updates can be performed automatically and manually and the database is regularly updated. Additionally, users can choose to only update the database if they wish to perform other updates at a later time. Other features include a Host Intrustion Prevention System (HIPS) that reduces threat access through gaps in security, support for system restoration and the ability to remove locked files that the system otherwise cannot.
