Homemade cookies are an always welcome thank-you gift.

A baptism is an important time in a person's life. If your friends and family are present for the baptism or guided you to make the decision to be baptized, a thank-you gift is in order. Homemade gifts are meaningful and less expensive than store-bought gifts. You can easily make a gift that lets the recipient know how grateful you are that the person participated in such a special occasion in your life.

  1. Dinner

    • As a thank-you gift, plan a special dinner with those who had a special role in the baptism. Take time before the meal to thank them for playing a part in such a special occasion. Delivering a home-cooked meal is another way of saying thank you if a formal dinner is not an option. You will want to include an appetizer, main dish and dessert.

    Recipes

    • For people who are too far away for you to deliver a meal, send a few of your favorite recipes. Write them on colorful index cards. Include a note that explains how important the people were in making the baptism a success. Additionally, explain that the recipes, like the people's presence at the baptism, are precious to you. You will want to give a variety of recipes in the package.

    Cookies

    • Cookies are an easy and delicious gift to give. If the baptism was for a baby, you can make baby-inspired cookies. Think baby booties, rubber ducks and wooden blocks. For an adult baptism, you can spell out "Thank You" or "You're the Best" using cookie letters. Place the cookies in tulle bags or a small plastic container.

    Memory Tree

    • Cut a small or medium-sized tree from your yard. Remove all of the leaves. Use string to attach pictures from the baptism to the branches. Fill a terra-cotta pot with candy and place the branch in the center. You can also use coffee beans, teabags or beans to fill the pot. Decorate the pot using water-based acrylic paint.
