Purchase several types of shortbread cookies from a grocery store or imported foods store. You can find out if the product was made in England by examining the labels on the packages. Line an old woven basket with a tartan or plaid cloth napkin, and nestle the cookie packages in the bottom of the basket.

For a friend who loves to drink tea, purchase a variety of tea bags that have been imported from England. Some popular flavors are Earl Grey and English Breakfast. You can place the bags in a tea chest, or you can stuff a few bags in a vintage teacup with a vintage teaspoon.

They were bred originally to hunt pests on farms, but they gained popularity when King James VI of Scotland began to fancy them, according to the American Kennel Club.
