Perfect Flower Arrangements for Weddings
From gardenias to roses to lilies of the valley, the idea of the perfect flower arrangement differs for each wedding. Consider the wedding colors and the overall theme of the ceremony and reception. With proper planning, find the perfect flowers for a wedding arrangement.

Flowers
-
The choice of flowers usually depends on the preference of the bride and groom. However, floral fillers are required for creating perfect arrangements. Choose main flowers, extra flowers, filler flowers and greenery. Main flowers are generally large and prominent in the bouquet, such as roses or lilies, with an average count of eight flowers. Smaller extra flowers are used to accompany the larger flowers, but ensure you don't overshadow them. Filler flowers and greenery offset the main flowers and add bulk, making the bouquet appear full and complete.
Color
-
The color of the flowers is important. Usually, two or three main colors are employed in a wedding theme -- and are displayed throughout the ceremony and reception in decorations, place settings and the wedding apparel. Utilize the main color scheme when creating floral arrangements. Let the main flowers and the extra flowers complement each other.

Wedding Theme
-
The wedding theme, such as folksy or traditional, guides you in selecting the types of flowers, ribbons and decorations for the arrangements. For more traditional bouquets, use one or two colors and types of flowers to make them appear more uniform. For a folksier, more relaxed wedding, arrange a variety of flowers, whether color themed or not. Present the flowers in a more natural manner, wildly and haphazardly placed in the bouquet, and with varying heights. Using seasonal flowers, such as poinsettias in December, also makes special floral arrangements.
Classy Containers
-
Besides flowers, a perfectly chosen container finishes off a bouquet and completes the look of the floral piece. Containers range from slim to bulky -- but must serve the wedding theme. For a traditional black and white wedding, large black Grecian containers with large white floral bouquets add an element of class to the occasion. For a folksy, relaxed and nature-based wedding, use more natural-looking containers, such as woven rush baskets.
