Good Ideas for Gag Gifts
Gag gifts are always great for a laugh, and they can be used for many different occasions such as birthdays, housewarming parties, office parties, or just for fun anytime. Whether you're making the gift yourself, or purchasing it from a specialty shop, it's important to know your gift recipients and what makes them laugh.

For The Office
-
Give a gag gift to spice up a long day at the office. Give a coworker a desk bowling kit for a laugh. This kit wouldn't be complete without a tiny bowling alley, 10 little bowling pins and different colored balls. Make it out of paper, foil and gum balls and give it to a coworker who loves to bowl. Another gag gift for the office is the chalkboard coffee mug. It is simply a coffee mug with a built-in chalkboard, perfect for marking territory, leaving messages, writing reminders or drawing funny pictures of your coworkers.
Some-Assembly-Required
-
These simple DIY gag gifts are guaranteed to get a laugh. Throw some straw and grass-like materials in a plastic bag, and attach a label with "Straw Hat -- Some Assembly Required" on it. Another idea is to give someone unfinished furniture. This is a good housewarming gag gift. Find a few small tree branches and a box to put them in. Include an elaborate description of the furniture, and phony directions on how to put it together. For the puzzle enthusiast, try the world's smallest puzzle gag. Put some sawdust in a small plastic bag, such as a sandwich bag. Stick a label to the front of the bag that reads, "World's Smallest Puzzle."

Cookbook for the Noncooker
-
This is the perfect gift for someone beginning to learn how to cook or just not too great at cooking. Choose any cookbook that you think would fit her personality best and copy the front and back covers. Use a scanner or color copier and print the covers on a sturdy paper. You can laminate the papers to make them look more official. Find a plain, unused notebook, and stick the covers to the front and back, creating what appears to be a regular cookbook. On the pages inside list numbers to fast food and take-out restaurants, plus emergency numbers in case of fire.
Over-the-Hill
-
Give someone who's gone "over-the-hill" an over-the-hill survival kit. This gag gift basket is filled with items such as concentrated hair dye, anti-wrinkle soap and face cream, vitamins, bran flakes, dietary fiber and spare parts like fake teeth and old doll arms and legs. Dress the items up with funny labels. For example, for the vitamins create an "Over the Hill Survival Pills" label and place on the bottle. For the chocolate lover, fill a large pill bottle with little candies in an assortment of colors, and create a label that reads something like "Miracle Anti-Aging Pills."
