To make sure your makeup looks flawless and blends in with your natural skin tone, choose a shade that is closest to your skin color. Sheer Cover comes in three shades: Tan, Medium and Dark. Each of these shades is a combination of two colors. You can use one of these colors, or blend them together. According to Sheer Cover Tips & Tricks, there is a simple way to test these colors. First, dip your finger into one shade and apply in a stripe on your face, then do the same with the second shade in a separate strip. Using natural light, check which color is closest to your skin tone.
Blending

The combination of two colors allows you to create a custom blend perfect for your skin tone. To create a custom blend, pour a little of one shade into the lid of the makeup, then pour in a little of the second shade. Mix the two together using the end of a brush. Test it on your jawline. Keep on blending the two shades together until you find a shade perfect for your skin tone. This shade may vary throughout the year as your skin tone changes with the seasons.

Applying

Apply the Sheer Cover Concealer using your fingertips or the concealer brush on red areas such as pimples or under eyes. Then, blend the Sheer Cover mineral foundation by tapping a small amount of the foundation, in either a single shade or the blended shade, onto a piece of paper or a tissue. Dip a brush into this foundation and tap its end vertically to get rid of excess powder and to spread it onto the bristles. Use a circular motion starting from the outside of your face to apply the mineral foundation. Apply a thin layer of foundation to the entire face, then add a second layer if necessary.
Perfection

Use other Sheer Cover products to perfect your look. Dab the concealer under your eyes to lighten skin, and use it to cover age sports, birthmarks or blemishes. Use the eyeliner by gently gliding it around the rim of your eye to accentuate your eyes. Choose from a number of shades of eyeshadow to enhance the color of your eyes.
