TV Riddler
-
In the 1960s Frank Gorshin played The Riddler on the classic campy Batman TV show. To make a version of the Frank Gorshin costume, pick up a solid green bodysuit at a dance shop or sporting good store. Stuff the leotard with clean plastic bags to simulate muscles. Adorn the outside of the leotard with black question marks using either iron-on appliques or black fabric paint and a stencil of a question mark. Cap off the costume with a matching purple domino mask, gloves and cummerbund and black shoes.
Riddler Suit
-
If you don't want to wear tight fitting spandex, create a version of the classic Riddler costume using dress clothes instead. Pick out a dark green dress shirt, a light green jacket and a matching tie and pants. To cap off the costume, find a green bowler hat at a costume shop (St. Patrick's Day is a good time to find a green bowler.) Apply light green or black question marks to the suit, pants and tie using fabric paint or iron-ons.

Movie Riddler
-
The costume that Jim Carrey wore when he played The Riddler in "Batman Forever" was an unusual update on the classic TV look. A movie Riddler costume begins with a green leotard and a light green domino mask. When adding the question marks to a movie Riddler costume, use question marks of varying sizes, and place them in a random, chaotic pattern. Finish off the costume with a bright, red wig or red hair spray, styled up in a spiky crew cut fashion.
Make-Your-Own Riddler
-
The best part about making a costume is expressing your own creativity. Because no two versions of The Riddler are identical, feel free to create a costume in whatever style you like, or mix and match elements from different versions of the character. As long as the costume is primarily green with question mark accents and a mask, your character will be recognized. Consider variations such as a sexy female Riddler, or give your Riddler costume one big question mark instead of a repeating pattern.
