Planning a birthday party of an 11-year-old girls is a piece of cake.

Hosting a birthday party for girl who is turning 11 takes some ingenuity and knowledge of what the birthday girls likes. Planning a venue for a birthday party takes some thinking ahead, as making reservations may be important. Girls at this age get bored quickly, so be sure to have lots of activities planned for the girls who attend, no matter where you decide to hold the party. Does this Spark an idea?

  1. Sleepover Party

    • A favorite activity for birthday parties for girls is a sleepover. Girls like to be together for long periods of time and love to stay awake until the sun rises. If you decide to host a sleep over, be sure to have projects and activities to keep the girls busy. Have them decorate T-shirts with iron-on decals and letters, fabric paint, glitter glue sequins and beads. Or let them decorate pillowcases with fabric pens. Be sure to have a couple of the newest, cool DVDs to watch as well as plenty of snacks.

    Bowling Party

They may have special party packages that allow for shoe rentals as well as bowling for a certain number of games or hours. Many skating rinks offer birthday party packages that include the entry fees and skate rentals for participants, along with a birthday cake. A skating party works well for preteens because the music that is played during the skating session can be tailored to the type of music the kids like. Many rinks also have staff to offer special games to play as part of the party, such a limbo, a backward skate and an obstacle course skate.

    Camp-Out Party

    • If your daughter's 11th birthday is during the time of year when it is fun to be outdoors, do not overlook hosting a birthday camp-out. A camping party might be held in your backyard or at a park nearby that allows overnight stays. Camping parties offer guests and the birthday girl an opportunity to cook hot dogs over a campfire, roast marshmallows for s'mores, tell scary ghost stories, sing songs and set up tents.
