Skin Protection
-
Eat tomatoes to help protect your skin from the sun. Tomatoes contain lycopene, a super antioxidant that works as sunscreen from within. Lycopene combats cellular damage and reddening of the skin. Self.com recommends consuming 16 milligrams of lycopene per day to promote sun protection. Eat processed tomatoes, as these are better absorbed by your body. Consume products such as tomato juice, tomato soup and salsa. Add some fat, such as a grilled cheese sandwich, to promote lycopene absorption even more.
Hair Treatment
-
Spread tomato paste, sauce or juice in your hair to eliminate any unpleasant smells and chlorine damage. If the pH levels of your hair are out of balance, the acidity in tomatoes, can help repair this. Wash the tomato paste out of your hair after allowing it to soak. The acidity in tomatoes also dries out your hair. It is therefore not recommended to use the fruit itself on your hair. This hair treatment is an emergency treatment that should be used sparingly.

Acne Remedy
-
Tomatoes may help reduce and clear up your acne. The acidity in tomatoes will help dry up blemishes on your face. Tomatoes contain vitamin K, vitamin C and vitamin A. The latter two are commonly used in prescription and over-the-counter acne medications. Cut a tomato in half and rub the inside on your face if you have mild acne. For more severe acne, mix 1 tbsp. of tomato juice with four drops of lime juice. Apply the mixture to your blemishes with a cotton swab. Let it sit for five minutes before washing it off with warm water.
Facial Mask
-
Use tomatoes on a daily basis to get a smooth complexion. Tomatoes will act as a cleanser on your skin and will help minimize your facial pores. Take the pulp out of a tomato and apply it to your skin. Keep it on for one hour before washing it off with warm water. Use this facial mask daily to get the best results. To get an instant glow, mix honey with tomato juice until a thick paste appears. Apply the paste to your skin and neck while avoiding the eye and lips area. Wait 15 minutes before rinsing off the mask.
