Ideas for a 4th of July Family Reunion

The Fourth of July is a holiday that many people have off from work and are looking for a way to celebrate. Gather your family together over the Fourth of July and celebrate them in a memorable way.

Family Story

Compile stories from each family member in a booklet. Before the actual reunion date, send members of your family a writing prompt. Have them answer the question "What is the most memorable Fourth of July you have ever had?" Ask both young and old to respond to the question either by computer via email or by handwriting the story and returning via regular mail. Include a deadline for the story's return. Compile all the stories in a booklet for each family as a keepsake. Have a child decorate the cover image for the book in a Fourth of July motif.
Family Shirts
-
Order a unique T-shirt for each family member. When sending out invitations, ask family members to respond with how many people are planning to attend by a certain date. Order a specially designed Fourth of July, Family Reunion T-shirt with the family name displayed prominently. This T-shirt will serve as a keepsake of the special day for years to come.

A family member proficient in a hobby can set up a booth and offer a short training lesson in that hobby, such as painting, drawing or woodworking. Don't forget a photo booth in a picturesque area under a tree or near a pretty bush. Have a family volunteer snap pictures of relatives posing together. Make the pictures available online when all the family members have gone home.
