International cocktails are fun to make and drink.

Every country has their own variety and flavor of cocktails. You can use cocktail recipes from around the world to pretend like you are in an exotic country while staying at home. International cocktails are simple to make, enjoyable to consume and make interesting topics that will spark conversation at any party. Does this Spark an idea?

  1. South America

    • South America has many different cocktails. Most cocktails made in South America are made from alcohol created in local countries, including cachaça and pisco. Make a Caipirinha cocktail from 2 tsp. of sugar sprinkled onto eight lime wedges in the bottom of a glass. Add 2 ½ oz. of cachaca to the cup. Make Jaguar Milk by adding one can of condensed milk, an equal amount of vodka, half a can of cream of cacao and mixing until smooth. Serve over crushed ice.

    Europe

    • Europe is home to many exotic and tasty cocktails. Make an apple cocktail by mixing one part vermouth and one part apple juice. Serve over ice. Make the "Van Gogh" cocktail by mixing ½ part absinthe, ½ part agave nectar, 1 ½ parts tequila and the juice of half a lemon. Drop a quartered strawberry into the glass and shake with ice. Pour the drink into a glass without the ice. Make a Champagne cocktail by adding 10 parts of champagne into a glass. Pour 4 parts of vodka over the champagne and serve without stirring.

    Africa

    • Africa is home to many tasty cocktails as well. Make the African Malawi Shandy by mixing equal parts of lemonade, club soda and two dashes of Angostura bitters. Serve over ice. Make a Springbok by mixing one shot of cream liquor with one shot of Irish cream. Top the creamy cocktail with a dollop of real cream. Make the Puff Adder cocktail by mixing equal parts club soda and lemonade. Add two shots of vodka for a sneaky punch to the concoction.

    Caribbean

    • The Caribbean is known for carefree vacations and ideal temperatures. The cocktails served here are tropical and fun. The Dark and Stormy cocktail mixes 2 oz. of dark rum, 10 oz. of ginger ale and the juice from a quarter of a lime. Serve over ice. Make a Coquito by mixing two egg yolks, 1 can of condensed milk, 1 can of coconut cream and 1 can of evaporated milk. Add ½ a cup of water, ½ a cup of white rum, 1 tsp. of vanilla, ¼ tsp. of ground cloves and ½ a tsp. of cinnamon.
