Awesome Invention Ideas
We have come a long way since the invention of the wheel. Everything we use to make our daily lives easier has been created due to someone's bright idea. With the rapid progression of science and manufacturing in recent decades, more has become possible. Consequently, increasingly fantastic inventions are able to be realized, and this has the cyclical effect of inspiring inventors to think of even more incredible ideas. Today, we are constantly amazed at awesome new inventions.

3D Bio-printers
-
Three-dimensional printers have been used in the food and construction industries for several years already, but an exciting new development in the technology by Professor James Yoo from the Institute of Regenerative Medicine at Wake Forest University, has seen the creation of 3D printers that can "print" new skin and cartilage. The U.S. Department for Defense provided much of the funding for the research as the technology will be invaluable in helping wounded soldiers whose injuries are, in 30 percent of cases, skin-related. So far, an ear has be created using nothing but silicone gel and a 3D scan. A 10 centimeter square of skin has also been printed onto a pig. Hopes for the future are that 3D printers will become capable of recreating large organs and internal structures.
Ant Habitat from Antworks
-
This wacky, but fascinating invention is based on a NASA experiment researching the possible existence of life in space. The gel NASA created not only contains all the nutrients necessary for the ants to survive, but helps you watch the ants create their colonies in a vibrant environment. Four blue LED lights make the gel glow, especially around the paths that the ants make as they move around. Ants have two stomachs, three eyes and can lift 20 times their own weight. They also work together to achieve tasks, which all makes for interesting viewing in this bright blue setting. The more ants you feed into the machine, the more action you will see.

SolarWindow
-
Energy-generating windows have been growing in popularity in recent years, but the technology used has meant that the windows lose transparency. SolarWindow is a spray-on transparent solar film that not only leaves the window completely see-through, but is 300 percent more efficient than previous energy producing solar windows. New Energy Technologies, Inc. uses the smallest solar cells available, ending up with a film that is one-tenth of the thickness of currently available solar window films. The spray-on feature of SolarWindow is, unlike other sprays, possible at room temperature. This is a nanotechnology development that has a patent pending. This, along with its other features, makes SolarWindow streets ahead of its predecessors.
Muscle Suit
-
Tokyo Science University has come up with a really impressive muscle suit that is designed to help you lift heavy items. It involves an air compressor, a regulator situated across your shoulders and a futuristic, robotic-looking "suit" frame which sits around your neck and arms. The Invention Reaction website thinks it makes the wearer look like "a Legion Of Doom wrestler."
