Interior Bedroom Ideas
A bedroom is a place where you usually start and end your day, so it should be a comfortable place where you can relax and rest. A bedroom's design should be practical yet beautiful. Looking at pictures in magazines can help with ideas for things such as colors and themes. Whether designing a contemporary or traditional master bedroom or a guest bedroom, a little research and time is all you need. Does this Spark an idea?

Colors
-
When choosing colors for your bedroom, whether it's for the wall and ceiling paint, soft furnishings or carpet, take the size of the room into consideration. A smaller bedroom will appear larger if you use light colors such as pale shades of gray, green or yellow and neutral colors such as white, beige and cream. Darker colors can be used in a large bedroom; maroon, red or brown make the room feel cozy and inviting. Whether you use a light or dark color for your flooring -- be it tile, laminate or hardwood -- also makes a difference in the look and feel of the bedroom.
Furniture
-
Of course, your bedroom should have a bed, and it should be in proportion to the size of the room. It wouldn't be ideal to place a twin bed in a large master bedroom. Using a bed with a headboard can add visual interest to a room. If the space permits, place a bedside table on both sides of the bed. For an eclectic feel, the tables don't have to match. If there's enough space between the foot of your bed and the wall, you can place a bench, two upholstered chairs or two footstools at the end of the bed. Other furniture you can use to design your bedroom are a desk, vanity table, entertainment storage, an armoire and a dresser.

Bedding
-
Hundreds of different kinds of bedding are available for you to choose from. Bedding comes in prints and solid colors and materials such as cotton and linen, and there's no right or wrong print to use. One thing you can do is mix and match bedding, such as using one color for your sheets and another for your pillowcases. You can also mix and match patterns such as florals with stripes or polka dots with solid colors. To pull the design together, match the print or color that you use for your bedding with the window treatments.
Window Treatments
-
If you want a lot of sun to enter the room, use sheer curtains, and if you want more privacy, choose heavy brocade drapes. Using decorative rods, finials and tiebacks can contribute to your room's design. Shutters and blinds in a bedroom allow you to control the amount of light in the room. If you have smaller windows, you can use bamboo shades, roman shades or roller blinds, which allow you to control the light in the room by drawing them up or down. If you're using printed fabric, use small prints for small windows and large prints for large windows to keep the look proportionate.
