Full Tilt Deposit Issues

Full Tilt Poker allows players to play poker online just as you would in real life.

Full Tilt Poker is an online poker room developed in 2004 where players can compete in different forms of poker for pretend or real money. Real-money players must deposit money onto their Full Tilt Poker accounts using one of many methods, including e-checks, credit cards and money transfers. Some issues that prevent players from depositing real money include being in Washington state, Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) regulations and being in violation of Full Tilt Poker user agreements.

  1. Washington State

    • Anyone with an Internet connection can download the Full Tilt Poker software. However, as of 2010, Washington is the only state in the U.S. where all real-money deposits are blocked from being processed. Full Tilt Poker allows residents of Washington to deposit real money and play only if they are physically outside of Washington when they do. Deposits are still allowed in locations where online poker is illegal, such as South Africa, but carry the risk of punishment if players are caught playing.

    UIGEA Regulations

    • The Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 prevents U.S. financial institutions such as banks and credit unions from processing transactions related to gambling online. Because of this, credit cards are banned as a depositing method in the United States. Neteller (an e-wallet service provider that can be used to make online transactions) has also been blocked from making gambling-related transactions as of 2010.

    User Agreement Violations

    • Full Tilt Poker can block deposits from accounts that are in violation of user agreements. Examples of violations include using "poker bots," sharing poker hand histories with other players, using prohibited "tracking" software to gain an unfair advantage and having more than one account at a time. Deposits can also be blocked if you do not make the accepted minimum deposit for that method. For example, at least $10 must deposited using e-checks or else the transaction will be blocked.

    Depositing Solutions

    • As of 2011, the easiest way to deposit money onto your Full Tilt Poker account in the U.S. is through instant e-checks, which automatically deduct from your checking account when the transaction is made. Credit cards are still accepted in countries outside of the United States. Another option is to have a friend with an existing account transfer money into your account. This is done by selecting the "transfer" option after clicking the "cashier button." The person transferring the money must type in the amount he wishes to transfer and the username of the account he is transferring money to.
