Fill the basket with decadent treats such as chocolate covered strawberries, whipped cream, a bottle of champagne and two elegant champagne flutes. Add a romantic, classic movie, such as "Gone With the Wind" or "Roman Holiday," to round out the basket. Send a bouquet of roses to accompany the basket as the romantic finishing touch.

Search antique stores to find interesting pieces of furniture, artwork and home decor accessories. This could include an antique clock, a vintage globe, a chest or even a painting. The unusual or one-of-a-kind piece will serve as a constant reminder in their home of the anniversary they are celebrating. A plant or a small potted tree for the couple's home will also have a symbolic effect, in addition to an aesthetic one. Include a note with the plant that relays how you know the plant will grow in their home as their love has grown over the years.

Watch the video of the couple's wedding ceremony and reception and pull out details that you can transform into a nostalgic gift. Since each year of marriage has a traditional gift associated with it, use the traditional themes as your guide for choosing an anniversary gift. For example, the fifth anniversary denotes a wood gift. For this you could choose a small tree, a wooden sculpture or a piece of furniture. For 10 years of marriage, the traditional gift is tin or aluminum. Give the couple a sculpture made out of these materials or a dinner serving platter. For 25 years of marriage, the traditional gift is silver. Give the couple new sets of silverware, a silver teapot or even a modern silver vase.
