Science Classroom Technology Grants
In a world where technology is ever-changing, it is difficult to teach a science class without the latest equipment and computer programs. Many companies and associations offer grants to help teachers bring technology into the classrooms and provide their students with more current, innovative lessons and activities.

National Weather Association

The National Weather Association has created the Sol Hirsch Education Fund to offer grants to teachers who wish to improve the education of their students in the area of meteorology. Grants are awarded in the amount of $750 and can be used to purchase materials and equipment, bring in outside programs or provide teacher training related to meteorology. Approximately seven grants are awarded each year, and applications can be completed on-line. Applications are judged based on the school's need and the creativity of the grant proposal.

Intel Schools of Distinction
-
Schools with strong math and science programs can apply to be considered an Intel School of Distinction. Each year, eighteen schools will be selected to win $5,000 for showing innovation in their math and science programs. From those eighteen, six schools will receive $10,000, and one will receive $25,000. Winning schools also receive products from the program's technology sponsors, including Dell, Smart Technologies, Scantron, and Brainwave, which can be used to enhance the technology available in science classrooms. To apply, schools must fill out an on-line demonstration, which demonstrates strong student performance in the area of science or math and innovative lesson plans.
