Isthmus Beer and Cheese Fest

Isthmus Beer and Cheese Fest in Madison, Wisconsin, celebrates the state's more than 600 native cheeses and the 1,200 cheese makers that produce them, as well as its 72 breweries active as of March 2011. The 2011 festival offered over 70 exhibits from cheesemakers such as Red Barn Family Farms, Meister Cheese Company, and Nordic Creamery, and breweries such as Pearl Street Brewery, South Shore Brewery, and Horny Goat Brewery Company. The 2011 festival's scheduled events creatively explored Wisconsin's culinary offerings, such as beer and chocolate pairings from Gail Ambrosius Chocolatier and Furthermore Beer, and beer and cheese tastings sponsored by the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board and Potosi Brew.
Vermont Beer and Cheese Festival

The 2011 Vermont Beer and Cheese Festival in New York City featured craft beers from New England brewers Alchemist, American Flatbread, Von Trapp, Lawson's Finest Liquids and Hill Farmstead. Jasper Hill Farms offered five artisanal cheeses, which fit into the scheduled tastings held weekly at Blind Tiger Ale House, the venue hosting the 2011 festival. Fayston Maple Imperial Stout and Double Sunshine from Lawson's Finest, Troston Bier from Von Trapp, and Lunatique from American Flatbread comprised some of the Vermont craft beer offerings, which covered a wide variety of styles, including Belgian lagers, English stouts and American-style India pale ales.

Between the Bluffs Beer, Wine and Cheese Festival

The 2011 Between the Bluffs Beer, Wine and Cheese Festival in La Crosse, Wisconsin, commemorates the region's culinary hallmarks -- beer and cheese -- and augments them with cooking instruction from Between the Bluffs Academy and live music. The festival allows a guest to enter her home-crafted beers and wines in a tasting competition, as well as participate in tastings and pairings from event sponsors. The festival's offerings are not limited to Wisconsin state lines: More than 45 wines from regional and international vintners are represented at Between the Bluffs Beer, Wine and Cheese Festival.

In addition to showcasing choice selections from Wisconsin's dynamic beer and cheese industry, Cheers! The Dairy State Beer and Cheese Festival serves as an avenue for patrons to contribute to a noble endeavor, as proceeds from the event benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Kenosha. Breweries sponsoring the event in 2011 included Blue Moon Brewing Company, Ale Asylum, and Beamish and Crawford.
