Sentimental Gifts for Him

It's not the size of the gift, but the thought behind it that gives it value.

If there is a man in your life you love with all of your heart, make sure he knows it. Choose a gift for him that shows that you are thinking about him every day and hour, especially the times you are apart. Don't assume he knows how you feel. A small token gift showing he has someone thinking about him can help him smile during those tough days when he feels it's him against the world.

  1. Date From the Past

    • Take him somewhere from the past that has a special meaning to your relationship. This could be where you had your first date, or if you are married, where he proposed or where you spent your first anniversary. Enjoy a dinner together at that location, and give him a rose. Tell him that you aren't the only ones that deserves roses, and that the rose you are giving him represents the love the two of you sparked at that location.

    Video Message

    • Record a special video message for the man you love. Tell him how much you love him on the video and what a difference he has made in your life. Beam it to his phone from yours, or give him the video on a DVD or flash drive so he can take it with him wherever he goes. This can be a special gift for your man if he travels often, or if he is on his first extended trip away from you during your relationship.

    Photo Album

    • Put together a photo album for him. If you are celebrating a first anniversary, either since you started dating or from when you got married, recap the year in the album for him. Put it in order from when you first met, or from the beginning of the past year through the present. Photographs of special dates, vacations and holidays spent together will help him remember those good memories. Choose one photograph from each month and have an online photography store or local digital photography store create a calendar for you, using a photograph for each month.

    Gifts From His Kids

    • If you are married and have children together, get him a gift from his children. Choose a gift that is personalized with each of their names, perhaps with a slogan on it such as "World's Best Dad." Some suggestions include coffee mugs, beer steins, picture frames and desk plaques. This will help him know that his little ones are thinking of him even when he can't be at home spending time with them.
