Use of Nonstick Pans in Infrawave thumbnail
The Infrawave oven is similar in size to a toaster oven.

The Black & Decker Infrawave countertop oven looks similar to a toaster oven but cooks at speeds similar to a microwave oven. It uses expanded Infrawave technology, which features high-power infrared lights that cycle on and off during the cooking process in response to the temperature of the food. The Infrawave oven browns and crisps food as it bakes, toasts, broils or roasts it. The device accommodates nonstick, glass and metal cookware. Does this Spark an idea?

  1. Included Cookware

    • The Infrawave oven includes a dishwasher safe baking pan, crumb tray, slide rack and a roasting rack, which are not nonstick. The crumb tray collects food drippings when the roasting rack is in use. The baking pan is a smaller version of a regular metal pan. The slide tray allows for easy pull out.

    Oven Size

    • The Infrawave oven dimensions are about 10 inches long, 11 inches wide and 6 inches high. Because the Infrawave is much smaller than a regular oven, traditional nonstick cookware does not fit inside of it. However, nonstick cookware that is toaster oven size works well in the Infrawave.

    Specifications

    • The Infrawave is preprogrammed to cook certain foods, such as pizza, cookies and different types of meat. Therefore, nonstick cookware may be advantageous for people who prefer it. Nonstick pans for toaster ovens and Infrawave ovens are available for muffins, pizzas, cakes, meats and anything else that is available in traditional oven size.

    Considerations

    • Glass, metal and nonstick cookware may all be used in the Infrawave. However, according to the Infrawave owner's manual, glass bakeware works best. Infrared lights pass through glass materials. This process allows for more even cooking.
