Paper Anniversary Gifts for Him
The first anniversary is a time to affirm your love for your husband and willingness to work through the problems that each couple encounters during marriage. The traditional first-anniversary gift is paper. Paper reflects the simplicity of your love for him and your desire to continue to grow together throughout the rest of your lives.

Personal Letter
-
Choose some good photos of you and him and enclose them with a personal letter. Hand write the letter on good stationery. Write about the first time you met, the excitement of your wedding and honeymoon, the love you have felt for him over the last year and the problems the two of you may have encountered. Vow to love him and work through the problems that will undoubtedly arise during the coming years. Place the letter and photos into an envelope, seal it with a ribbon and present it to him at an intimate dinner at home.
Sports Page Envelope
-
If your husband is a sports enthusiast, find a newspaper article or mention of his favorite team or player. Cut the page out and make it into a square envelope. Simply fold the outside edge of each side (not the top and bottom) of the newspaper page over 1 inch. Crease it in place and then glue it down. Fold the bottom of the page up 1/3 of the page, crease the bottom fold and glue the sides in place. Fold the top down so that it folds over the bottom of the envelope and crease it in place. Slip a pair of game tickets into the envelope along with a note expressing your love for him. Fold over the top of the envelope and use just a small dab of glue to seal it.

Book-of-the-Month Club
-
A gift of paper is one that takes many forms. Many husbands enjoy reading and have a favorite author or genre of books they like the most. A book-of-the-month club that caters to his tastes is a gift that keeps on giving for whatever length of time you wish to subscribe. Wrap the first month's book in a bright red ribbon and include a card explaining the gift subscription and a promise to give him enough time of his own throughout the month to finish each book.
Caricature on Paper
-
Choose a picture of your husband and yourself and take it to a caricature artist. Choose one who is talented in the use of color or shading. Have it sketched on quality paper with a short message of love from you to him. Frame it very nicely so he can display it in his office or at home.
