Beach Theme Weddings Ideas
If you're lucky enough to snag a beach location for your special day, make the most of it. Create a beach theme for your entire event that will complement the site of your wedding. Use natural elements, such as wood and flowers, and bring elements of sea and sand into the decor.

Invitations
-
Your wedding invitations should reflect the atmosphere of your wedding and a beach theme wedding is no exception. Use your wedding invitations as a way to begin your beach theme decor. Select stationary with coastal inspired images, such as a starfish or palm tree. If your guest list is small or you can afford it, you might even include a small star fish or sand dollar in the envelope as a slightly whimsical touch.
Colors
-
Blues, browns and white are natural choices for a beach themed wedding. Blue represents ocean water, shades of brown give the color of sand, while white is a bright airy color that complements both. Don't be restricted by that color palette alone, however.
Tropical flowers that grow in coastal beach regions often contain bright pink, orange or yellow petals, so these colors are fitting for a beach theme. Use tropical flowers to provide a pop of color to your bridal bouquet.

Select your wedding gown and bridesmaid dresses with your beach theme in mind. A glamorous ball gown with heavy beading and a huge bow on the back will not make sense with your beach surroundings. Flowing gowns that fall close to the body, or sleeveless dresses that only bell out moderately will fit in with the setting much better. If you are right on the beach, encourage your guests to dress more casually and consider dressing the groomsmen in white shirts and khakis as opposed to a proper suit.
Centerpieces
-
Centerpieces at a beach wedding open up a world of creativity. Drill holes in a piece of driftwood and place short flower stems into the wood to add a splash of color. Make use of water and sand in your centerpiece arrangements.
A candle holder filled with sand will support a large pillar candle, or you can fill vases with water and use floating candles. Other natural elements that make sense in a beach centerpiece include bamboo, palm tree leaves and seashells.
