Vineyard Wedding Colors
Vineyards make a romantic backdrop and venue for any wedding. Once you've decided to use a vineyard as your wedding location, you'll need to pick wedding colors. Since these colors will be featured in the bridesmaid dresses, flowers and decorations, you don't want your wedding colors to clash with your backdrop -- so choose colors that complement a vineyard.

Red Wines
-
If you want rich, warm wedding colors, think about the hues of the different red wines such as burgundy, shiraz, merlot, cabernet sauvignon and pinot noir. Choose primary red, scarlet, sangria or crimson. Different shades of red not only go with a vineyard wedding, but also a winter or Christmas wedding. Red also represents love and passion making it appropriate for weddings. Pair your desired shade of red with white or gold.
White Wines
-
For a light, airy wedding, look to the white wines --- chardonnay, pinot grigio, Riesling, and sauvignon blanc --- for inspiration for your wedding colors. These wines have a slight yellow or gold-ish tint to them so consider a pale yellow, champagne, gold or cream. These colors will give your wedding a softer look. Pair your white wine color with red, green or orange for a dash of drama or brown to keep your wedding colors calm and neutral.

Earth Tones
-
Many couples decide to hold their weddings in vineyards because of their outdoor beauty --- from the blue of the sky down to the browns of the earth. Let the rich hues of the earth inspire your wedding colors. Brown comes in a myriad of shades: chocolate, russet and sepia. Capture the red or orange in the dirt by choosing rust, copper or chestnut. Orange, blue, yellow and cream complement brown very well and make a great choice for a second wedding color.
Greens
-
When you look out across a vineyard, you see a lot of green so draw your wedding colors from the leaves of grapevine as well as the green grapes growing on them. Go with an army green, sea green, forest green or hunter green. Green complements spring weddings when the earth turns green again, summer weddings when the foliage turns a lush green, as well as Christmas weddings since green is a traditional Christmas color. Use cream, yellow, red or orange for your other accent color.
Purples
-
Think about the deep, plum purple of grapes for your primary wedding color. Stay on the dark side with rich purple or violet, or go lighter with a lilac, lavender or amethyst. Be bold with magenta or fuchsia. Purple is associated with royalty and will give your wedding a touch of sophistication. Match your favorite shade of purple with cream, green or gray.
