The Best Scepter Targets in MTG
In the collectible card game "Magic: The Gathering," artifact cards represent powerful physical items deployed against your opponents. Scepter artifacts are often sought after because they grant users commanding abilities that might quickly change the course of the game. Unlike a combat artifact, a scepter doesn't need to be equipped to a creature already on the battlefield. Although scepter artifacts are beneficial when used in most decks, wizard decks especially benefit from having one or two scepter cards shuffled in the mix.

Disrupting Scepter
-
"Disrupting Scepter" has the ability to make opponents discard a card. This scepter is most effective when used to target an opponent with few cards in his hand.
Isochron Scepter
-
A player who uses "Isochron Scepter" can exile an "instant card" -- with a converted mana cost of two or less -- from his hand. The exiled "instant card" is copied and played each successive turn, provided the player using it has at least two mana to spend. "Isochron Scepter" is best used to target instant spells that are cheap and effective. These include "Galvanic blast" or "Giant Growth."

Magistrate's Scepter
-
Although "Magistrate's Scepter" must be charged before it can be used, its main ability has the effect of giving the controlling player another turn. The most advantageous time to use "Magistrate's Scepter" is when your creatures on the battlefield might inflict damage on your opponent during a subsequent turn.
Scepter of Dominance
-
"Scepter of Dominance" allows the player controlling it to tap target permanents. This is a versatile ability best used to target your opponent's flying or unblockable creatures.
Scepter of Insight
-
The "Scepter of Insight" grants the controller the ability to draw an additional card. It gives players the upper hand by giving them more spells from which to choose. Use "Scepter of Insight" to target yourself and draw a card.
