Little Gifts for Valentine's Day
Valentine's gifts don't have to be huge; a small bouquet of flowers is sometimes better than a giant one. If you don't like to send flowers, consider getting another small gift like jewelry, a small box of chocolates or even a card. If you typically get a large gift for your loved one, discuss with them ahead of time that you are going smaller this year, so they aren't disappointed when they open the gift.

Jewelry
-
Jewelry is always a good gift for Valentine's Day. You don't have to spend a lot at a high-end jewelry store, either. Purchase a nice necklace or bracelet at a department store or online. Men might enjoy a nice chain or earring, if they wear jewelry. Wrap them up in a box with a bow on top for a pretty presentation.
Chocolate
-
A gift of chocolate is always appreciated by both men and women. If you don't want to purchase a heart-shaped box of chocolate, make your own chocolate. You can purchase candy molds at the craft store to pour your own chocolate candy. Fudge is also a yummy chocolate treat; simply cut it into small pieces and place it in a decorative tin or box.

Cards
-
Make a card for your loved one. You can use a photo of the two of you on the front or cut out a few paper hearts or roses. On the inside, be sure to write out your feelings for the other person. Write your true feelings of love; you can also include a poem or quote that you feel expresses your thoughts and feelings.
Photos
-
Purchase a few small picture frames and insert photos of the two of you together. An alternative is to purchase a larger frame and make a collage of several pictures that you both love. You can also use paper and decorative stickers to create a small scrapbook. Include items besides photos, such as ticket stubs or fun memories you both share.
Love Notes
-
Write love notes to your significant other. Make them short, but make several of them. Place the notes around the house or include them in the daily routine for your loved one to find throughout the day. In the kitchen, the car, the office and a lunch or gym bag are great places to start. Give them the last one at dinner or bed time.
