Creative Ways to Ask Girls to a Formal Dance
Asking a girl to a formal dance can be nerve-wracking. You may not know exactly what to say or how to say it, and you might be embarrassed of saying the wrong thing. You might even be too shy to ask at all. However, asking a girl to a formal dance creatively makes the otherwise serious situation a much lighter one -- and it may even give you more chances of landing a date. Does this Spark an idea?

Write a Poem

One way to ask a girl to a formal dance is to write a poem for her. The poem can be serious or humorous but the main point of the poem is to ask the girl to be your date. It doesn't matter how long it is, but if you make it rhyme it will be more obvious that it's a poem. Try to go beyond the usual, "Roses are red. Violets are blue. I'd really like to go to the prom with you." Putting a little bit of yourself into the request is a creative way to let a girl know you'd like to be her date.
Fortune Teller Game

The fortune teller is a game with paper that is folded so that the person holding it can open and close it to reveal fortunes. Each of the flaps on the outside is numbered one to four. If the girl chooses the number "three," you open and close the fortune teller three times. When it's open, the flaps inside reveal more numbers that the girl chooses from again. You open and close the fortune teller once more. The girl picks another number and you open that flap. It should read, "I'm you're date to the dance." The trick is that every fortune under each flap says something about you being her date.

Scavenger Hunt

Entertain your prospective date by asking her to a dance by setting up a scavenger hunt. Find a place for the scavenger hunt such as in a park and prepare a list of specific items she should find. For a dance, your list can include a picture of yourself, a tiara, a picture of a prom dress and a tuxedo or a couple at a dance, a flower and a bag of confetti. Don't tell her what she needs to find, but rather, give her clues as to what she's looking for. When she finds everything, she should figure out that these clues have to do with a formal dance and you can ask her to be your date.

If you don't bake, you can ask someone to help you make cupcakes. One of the cupcakes that you'll bake will have a message in it asking the girl that you like to the dance. The message will be written or typed on a piece of paper, folded and covered in foil. Give the cupcake to the girl and to make sure that she eats it by telling her that you baked it and you want to know what she thinks. As she takes a bite, she'll feel the foil. Pretend to be shocked at what she finds. Take the foil then pretend to be surprised to find the paper and hand it to her. She'll read the note asking her to be your date.
