Celebrate the fun with a pumpkin candle gift.

Halloween brings out the kid in all of us. You dress up for parties, decorate your home in scary motifs and wait for the children to knock on your door. But Halloween is not only for children, so treat your friends to a fun Halloween gift that will keep the creatures of the night away from their doors. Does this Spark an idea?

  1. Candles

    • Illuminate the path on Halloween night or keep the ghouls at bay by giving the gift of light. Although you could purchase a Halloween theme candle, such as a hissing black cat, a wicked witch stirring her cauldron or an evil face pumpkin, make your own bloody candle for your friends to burn this night. Drip melted wax from a red taper candle down the sides of a white pillar candle. Keep the drips random as you encircle the candle with the drips of blood.

    Candy Bowl

    • Carry the bloody theme into a matching candy bowl gift. Apply a band of hot glue around the rim of the bowl several times to build up a layer of glue to resemble liquid boiling over the pot. Use water-based, black spray paint on the bottom of the bowl; the paint should fade to a lighter black the closer you get to the top of the bowl. Allow the paint to dry before applying red spray paint to the entire bowl. The colors will blend together and give depth to the bowl. Add assorted candies to the bowl or arrange a flower bouquet inside.

    Wreath

    • Keep other witches away from your friend's home by giving a Halloween wreath. A grapevine wreath from your local store forms the base as you embellish it. Hot glue a 3-dimensional witch to the center of the wreath, the scarier the better. Glue a tree branch diagonally across the back of the wreath for the witch's broom. Wrap orange and black streamers around the wreath before gluing on Halloween creatures, such as spiders, ghouls, pumpkins, cats and goblins.

    Basket

    • Give a Halloween basket of goodies. Spray paint a basket jet black and place black tulle inside and up to the rim. Pick up cone party hats and wrap them in orange streamers gluing the fabric down. Place candy corns, chocolate treats or nuts into the cone for an edible snack. Insert a small homemade pumpkin into the basket. Make the pumpkin by wrapping a roll of toilet tissue with orange felt and sticking the ends of the felt inside the roll with a green ribbon on top. Throw in some green glow lights to complete the basket.
