What Are PLR Articles?

What Are PLR Articles? thumbnail
Many different information websites use PLR articles.

Many information websites struggle to manufacture and develop the large number of high quality research articles that are needed for the site. Because researching and writing articles about a wide variety of topics consumes a lot of time and intensive energy, many website owners use PLR articles written by other people to increase the amount of content on their site.

  1. PLR Articles

    • A private label rights (PLR) article is an article in which the author or owner of the article sells the content to various merchants to use on their websites. Thus, a merchant who owns a website can buy PLR articles, fill their site with informational material pertaining to diverse topics, and help trigger search engine keywords to enhance the amount of traffic visiting their site without having to exert the labor needed to write all of the articles.

    PRL Authors

    • There are many sources through which a website merchant can purchase PRL articles to boost the amount of information on his website. Many individual authors offer and sell their articles as PRL articles for any merchants to use. Some commonly known PRL article authors include Dave Markel, Kim Standerline and Bryan Winters. Additionally, many websites collect numerous PRL articles, organize the content by categories, and sell the PRL articles to any merchants who want the material. Some sites that sell PLR articles include The PLR Store and PLR Article Shop.

    Price of PLR Articles

    • The prices of PLR articles vary depending on the author or owner of the article, the length of the article and the particular type of material encompassed within the article. Some membership websites sell large bulks of PLR articles for around 15 cents, while the price of articles at other sites range from $2 to $10 for each individual article.

    Rights of Merchants

    • Once a merchant has purchased a PLR article, he has the right to use the article on his website without any worries of committing plagiarism or copyright infringement. Furthermore, the merchant using the article technically owns the material, and thus he can make changes within the article, add material to the content, delete information from the content, include introductory or conclusive commentaries, and still publish the reconstructed article on his website without any legal repercussions.

    Disadvantage of PLR Articles

    • When authors write PLR articles, they may sell the article as many times as they want and to whoever they want. Thus, when a merchant uses a PLR article on his website, it is very likely that duplicate copies of the exact same article are posted on many other websites on the Internet, and if the merchant's website visitors realize that the content on his site is deliberately copied from other sources, the merchant may lose credibility and visitors may choose to abandon his site in favor of more reliable information sites. Therefore, the risk of diminished credibility and a damaged reputation leading to a lower number of website visitors is a realistic disadvantage that challenges merchants who use PLR articles on their websites.
