Toilet Tissue Storage Ideas

Handy storage can keep toilet paper from looking unattractive in the bathroom.

Bathroom storage space is often at a premium, as this is typically the smallest room in the home. Proper organization can streamline your morning routine, making it easy to find, use and store everything you need. Toilet tissue is a necessary item in every bathroom that can be stored in a variety of ways -- both decorative and practical.

Multipurpose Holders

For those who enjoy a bit of light reading in the bathroom, a wide variety of multipurpose bathroom organizers are available on the market. These wall- or tank-mounted organizers typically hold two rolls of toilet paper as well as lightweight books or magazines. If your needs can be met by a single spare roll, this is a handy and easily visible way to keep extra toilet tissue on hand.

Repurposed Vases

Tall, cylindrical vases can be easily repurposed for attractive toilet tissue storage. Vases placed on the counter can feature any number of colors or designs. Vases placed on the floor, however, should be see-through to prevent guests from confusing this storage container with a trash receptacle. Neatly stack three or four rolls in the vase, and you'll always have ample toilet paper on hand when you need it.

Rod Storage

A simple rod provides a basic way to store toilet tissue. You can purchase a variety of rod storage units which stand on the floor, or you can make your own to suit your individual needs. Aluminum or wooden rods can be purchased at many home improvement stores. Mount yours to a block of wood for a free-standing holder on the floor, or affix the rod to a thinner board and mount it on the wall. Screw the board into the wall near the corner so the rod extends parallel to the adjacent wall.

Concealed Cabinet

If you prefer toilet tissue storage that is kept out of public view, cabinet storage is the best way to go. To protect the tissue from leaky pipes and dripping soap bottles stash it in a plastic storage container. For easy access, select a simple pull-out drawer or box that can be opened from the front without having to be removed from the cabinet entirely.
