Understanding Mood Swings
-
There are several things that can cause mood swings in a woman. Most mood swings in women are caused by stress. The stress origin may be you, work or something you have no idea about. Extreme mood swings may be caused from postpartum depression, menopause, bipolar disorder or pregnancy. This is a short list of possibilities. These changes in mood can be hormonal, genetic, a personality or psychological trait or stemmed from previous abuse. The type and reason for her mood swings can vary greatly. Again, most of the cases are just caused by stress. If these bouts occur more than twice a week, then it may be something more than stress.
Talk to Her
-
Talk to her about her moodiness, but not during one her rants. You may find that she knows it is happening, and she may apologize for it. She may even give an explanation to why she has been this way. Once the problem has been found, it may just warrant some support and more talking on your part to help relieve the stress. She may feel she has no one to talk to. The ability to talk to someone about what is stressing her out may be what the doctor ordered.

It Is Not Stress
-
If she really is not stressed about something, then the problem may be a disorder or depression. If the two of you have talked and come to the conclusion that these mood swings are not making sense, then you may want to have her see a doctor. The doctor can determine if she is pregnant or going through menopause. She may have to go to some kind of specialist. There is a chance that she can get her moods under control with the help of medications or psychotherapy.
Living with Her
-
Standing by her side and helping her through the mood swings is the best you can do. However, if you are new in the relationship, and you feel it is more than you can deal with, then get out soon. The sooner, the better. The more attached you two become, the harder it will be for her to cope with your leaving. In most cases, you will find that sticking it out is the best bet. If the mood swings are the only problem in your relationship, then you staying with her will help with her confidence to battle them. A little love and understanding can go a long way.
