First Aid Courses for Schools
First aid is a vital part of many jobs. School officials, administrators, teachers and even students can use first aid skills. While the best scenario is never having to use the first aid skills, having the skills is important. It allows emergency response while waiting for an ambulance.

First Aid Classes
-
First aid classes are generalized classes for emergency responses to injuries of any kind in the school. The class is designed to teach skills like wrapping injuries in bandages, different methods of dealing with various types of injuries and proper cleaning of injuries in different situations. Classes also include information like recognizing allergic reactions, asthma, shock, seizures, heart attack and stroke and methods of handling the specific problems. Teachers, school nurses and school officials take the classes, which are offered by medical staff, firefighters or other emergency personnel in local areas.
CPR Classes
-
CPR is a specific skill teachers often need to know while working with students. Classes in CPR are often split between young children's needs and adult needs. Since children are more fragile, the methods of CPR differ and school officials need to learn the differences. Medical officials or firefighters will often offer classes for CPR skills.

Wilderness First Aid
-
Wilderness first aid classes are usually used for individuals or groups who are outdoor enthusiasts. For schools which are near wooded areas or in rural locations or for teachers who are taking students out on field trips to wooded areas, having wilderness first aid skills is a necessity. These are first aid skills specifically for outdoor conditions and dangers. Courses are usually available in areas where there is a potential for wilderness dangers, usually through private sources or the Red Cross.
Considerations for Schools
-
Schools require individuals who are prepared for any situation which might arise. Usually, teachers or school nurses can work on the first aid needs of the school. Schools vary in their needs and any school with violence among the students should have several teachers or officials in the school who are able to administer first aid or CPR.
