What to Include in Your Resume
-
Your resume should include several key characteristics. First, your name and contact information such as phone number and email address, which should appear at the top of your resume. Second, your objective, which is a short statement declaring what you hope to accomplish by applying. Third, list your work history with current and previous jobs and employers. Most often, work is listed in chronological order, beginning with your most recent job. Add a sentence or two after each job describing any skills or special knowledge gained.
-Any other relevant experience that can be listed. For example, if you have taken part in a volunteer organization that allowed you to utilize skills that may relate to the job you are applying for, list it.
-References. This is not always required, but many provide a statement at the bottom of the resume stating that references are available upon request.
