Graduation Gifts for Children from Preschool to the Eighth Grade
Graduation gifts for children are a challenge. On one hand they are deserving of recognition for graduation and on the other hand this is an accomplishment that is expected of them. Also, this is another gift where the expectation will grow with each successive graduation to the point where graduation from high school and college will be very expensive indeed. A gift with an educational or personal conduct message that is meaningful but not elaborate is a good choice.

Preschool Graduation
-
This is an opportunity to create a positive impression at an early age by rewarding the child for their achievement of doing well in preschool. A small gift of a skill-building toy or book and a restaurant meal of their choice set them on a positive course.
Kindergarten Graduation
-
Some schools conduct graduation ceremonies for kindergarten as a celebration of completing the first year of schooling. The kids are justifiably proud of themselves and a small gift is appropriate. A gift that is educational and enjoyable blends the best of both worlds. Continue your child's interest in reading by enrolling them in a book-of-the-month club. Children's book-of-the-month clubs choose books especially for children that are entertaining and contain a positive message. Additionally, the kid has the pleasurable anticipation of waiting for each month's book. Present them with the first month's book on graduation day.

Celebrating your child's entry into middle school is an opportunity to begin teaching him responsibility and planning for his future. Take your graduate to the bank, show him around and allow him to sit through the process of setting up a savings account. Take him to the bank once every week, always going inside so he can be a part of the process, to make a deposit from his allowance or any monetary gifts he may receive. Match his deposits dollar-for-dollar. The teller won't mind the small transaction and the child has the positive lesson of watching his money grow on a regular basis. The money will go a long way toward buying his first car.
Eighth Grade Graduation

Generally children have developed a special interest by this time, whether it's sports or academics. Both endeavors have their positive values and a gift that allows the child to continue them is a valuable contribution to her growth. Take the child to a professional ball game, along with a friend, and buy her her favorite player's jersey. If her interest is academics, a favorite book on her favorite subject is in order. If a career is already being considered, than any informational tutorial or book on the subject is a good gift.
