Lollipops are one option to consider for candy fundraisers.

Candy fundraising can benefit many middle school activities, such as sports, cheerleading, theater clubs and dances. Candy fundraisers allow middle school students to work with merchandise they love and build responsibility while helping a cause about which they are passionate. From lollipops to chocolates to candy bouquets, the possibilities are numerous. Because of the variety of options available and the opportunity to earn 40 to 60 percent profit, selling candy is an ideal choice for middle school fundraising.

  1. Chocolate

    • The options for selling chocolate seem almost endless. You can choose from popular brand-name chocolates such as Hershey's or See's Candies or the more traditional $1 bars from World's Finest Chocolate. Chocolate choices need not be limited to bars, however. Chocolate can also be sold as lollipops, which can be designed for a wide variety of special occasions: from holiday to sports designs to fun peace sign symbols.

    Hard Candy Lollipops

    • Lollipops are one of the most versatile candy options, with many designs and flavors from which to choose. Lollipops come in shapes such as pumpkins for Halloween, eggs for Easter or footballs for sports. You can also choose between sour or sweet and even sugar-free lollipops, and the colors are bright and varied.

    Cotton Candy

    • You have two main options when considering a cotton candy fundraiser: investing in a machine to make it or buying it pre-packaged. The choice largely depends on how often you plan to sell the cotton candy. Cotton candy makers cost about $500, but because one 4-pound bag of sugar can make close to 100 flosses of cotton candy, it may be worth the investment. If you don't wish to buy a maker, you can purchase the candy pre-packaged with the potential for customized labels for your school.

    Candy Bouquets

    • Candy bouquets are a great way to personalize your fundraising. You can get ribbons and designs to match your school colors, to fit a particular holiday or event, or even to show off your school logo. Bouquets also allow for a variety in the candy offered; you can use hard candies, chocolates and even bubble gum to make up the sweet and colorful displays.
