Easy Flower Bed Ideas for Kids

Easy Flower Bed Ideas for Kids thumbnail
Dress up your daughter's headboard with flowers.

Create a springtime look in your daughter's bedroom by adorning her bed with permanent or temporary flowers. Ask your daughter to choose her favorite flowers for the project. Decide if you want to paint the flowers on or use flower embellishments. Adding flowers can add new life to a plain white headboard, making the project well worth it. Does this Spark an idea?

  1. Hanging Silk Flowers on All Four Bed Posts

    • Use ribbon to tie up bunches of silk daisies, pansies, roses or other flowers that your child adores. Then, use a larger piece of ribbon to tie bunches of the flowers around all four of your daughter's bedposts. This simple idea can change the entire look of your daughter's bed, without making any permanent changes.

    Button Flowers

    • Use a hot glue gun to attach colorful pink, yellow, purple and blue buttons all over the headboard and sides of your daughter's bed. Allow the glue to dry and then use a pencil to trace flower petals around each button. Use pink and purple paint to carefully paint flower petals around each flower on the bed. Take your time so that each flower looks neat and pretty. You can work on the headboard one day, and then move on the rest of the bed so that you're not overwhelmed with too much work in one day.

Three Large Painted Flowers on the Headboard

    • Paint three large flowers on the headboard of your daughter's bed. Paint the largest flower in the middle and then two smaller flowers on each side. Choose flowers that she likes such as daisies or pansies. Draw the flowers with pencils to get the right shape. You can also make your own stencils by cutting large flower petals out of card stock paper and then tracing the shapes on the headboard.

    Pressed Flower Accents

    • Buy pressed flowers in all sizes at the craft store. Use a hot glue gun to glue the larger pressed flowers on the headboard of your daughter's bed. Glue the smaller flowers along the sides, posts and other areas of the bed. You can glue the flowers in random places on the bed or glue a large heart made of out of pressed flowers on the headboard.
