Fun High School Assembly Activities
Holding a school assembly can break up the regular monotony of high school students' days. School assemblies are a useful way to present educational information with all the students together. Having an assembly and encouraging fun activities allows faculty and students to become involved with issues happening at their high school. Here are a couple of ideas to make your assembly fun for both students and staff.
-
Guest Speakers
-
Guests speakers motivate students and help them understand the issues teens face everyday. To make the assembly more personal, you can have successful alumni of the school come in and talk to the students. They can share stories of their experiences at the school and how they worked to their advantage or show how school helped them shape who they are today. Professional athletes are also a popular choice to talk to students. Assemblies can also have speakers who focus on issues such as bullying, drug awareness, teen pregnancy and peer pressure.
BMX Stunt Team
-
If you are looking for a way to educate your students about health and safety, High Action Bikes is a company that offers school assembly programs with live BMX stunt shows. The High Action Bikes team performs throughout the country, either in your gymnasium or outside. This 40 minute assembly focuses on the importance of health and safety issues with routines catered to the age group of your school. Their school assembly program offers messages on character building, anti-bullying, drug awareness, bicycle helmet safety, and healthy and responsible choices. High Action Bikes also helps to reinforce positive drug free messages to the students.

Climate Education
-
ACE, or Alliance for Climate Education, offers a fun school assembly program teaching students about the science behind climate change. This nonprofit organization is dedicated to educating students and motivating them to start taking an interest in the climate. This assembly is free to all schools and students in the areas which ACE are based, such as Northern California, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, Washington, DC, Boston, Atlanta and Colorado. Through a series of videos and presentations, ACE speakers aim to engage students to help them realize they are an influential generation and can make a difference.
Talent Show
-
A talent show is a fun way for students to help educate while entertaining their fellow classmates at the same time. Whether it be singing, dancing or even through martial arts, a talent show can help showcase a student's talent and be educational. If your school assembly is centered around a particular theme, you can base the talent show around that. For example, you can have skits about anti-bullying, peer pressure, underage drinking or texting while driving.
