Wedding Band Design Ideas
The wedding band is a physical and metaphorical representation of the two parties undying love for one another. Because the wedding band you choose is meant to be with you for the rest of your life, it is important to choose a wedding band design that not only suits your tastes but is timeless. Does this Spark an idea?
-
Traditional
-
The traditional design for a wedding band is a solid ring of gold without any embellishments, engravings or stones. While yellow gold is the traditional metal associated with wedding bands, there are other traditional options. White gold and platinum wedding bands, as well as wedding bands made of other materials, such as ceramic and tungsten, are all viable options when choosing a traditional looking wedding band design.
Diamond
-
Wedding band designs with diamonds set into the band are similar to traditional wedding bands, albeit with a bit more flash. These types of bands generally have multiple diamonds inlaid around the band, rather than having one large diamond like a traditional engagement ring. Designs also vary on the number of rows of diamonds; some have only one row, while others can have two, three or more. Metals for these bands range from yellow and white gold, to platinum and silver, but wedding parties can also choose from other non-traditional materials.

Enhancers
-
Enhancer wedding bands are designed with the notion that the wedding band is meant to "complete" the engagement ring. This design style only applies to the bride, as the ring or rings that make up an enhancer are meant to be worn in conjunction with an engagement ring. Brides can choose from single ring designs that wrap around the engagement stone from one side or dual rings that go on either side of the engagement stone. Metals for these rings vary, as with other wedding band styles; however, the material for the wedding band should always match the material of the engagement ring.
Customized
-
Many online jewelry retailers allow couples to design their own custom wedding bands. Users can design either a "his" or "hers" ring by specifying a range of options, including the ring size, metal, shape, finish and edge. Once the ring has been designed, buyers can view a preview of the ring and the option to purchase the ring, or save their design for later. This way, users can test out multiple ring designs before finding the one that they want to wear for the rest of their lives.
