High School Business Academy Projects
High school business academy is the start to it all for many business leaders of the future. Kids who want to run a business should spend time in business academy as a way to build their understanding of business. Business academy also works as a way for business-minded students to socialize with others who are focused on the same thing.

Ford Motor Co.'s Partnership for Advanced Studies

Students at Spruce Creek High School's Academy of Information Technology and Robotics set up two make shift water purification companies to research expanding water purification in Asian countries. The program consisted of 145 students as of November 2010 and looks to expand its enrollment to 175 students. The project was completed by running dirty water through filters to get clean water back. According to The Daytona Beach News Journal, "Ford funds the program through its Fund and Community Services philanthropic arm." This project was completed by using five weeks of research to see the pros and cons of water purification in Asian countries.
Disneyland Youth Series

The Redlands High School Business Academy took a trip to Disneyland to partake in the youth education series. This program is designed to teach students life skills and what it takes to run this park behind the scenes. The Disneyland Youth Series is held at Walt Disney World in Florida and also at Disneyland in California. According to an article written by Redlands Daily Facts, "The programs use varied resources onstage and backstage to bring real-world examples to the learning experience." The program consist of training sessions where students are in direct contact with Disneyland facilitators who help explain the ins and outs of the park.

Virtual Business

Those enrolled in The Century High School E Business academy are given the opportunity to start running an online business. The program starts junior of high school by teaching students Microsoft Word, Excel, and Web publishing software. The skills taught are carried over to the senior year of high school where students develop their business while learning the accounting and finance aspect of running a business. According to Century High School, "An emphasis is placed on the development of business documents, spreadsheets, Internet technologies, email, web page design, personal email, and desktop publishing." The process of creating a business is done through group work which helps build social skills necessary for success.
Grant and Project Proposals

The Business Development Academy at Yonkers High School in New York is designed to give students hands on and classroom experience. This program is part of The Academy of Business Leadership which also includes The Academy of Finance, E Commerce, and Business Arts Program. According to Yonkers High School, "Students design grant and project proposals, review scientific literature, devise and modify experimental protocols."This project is designed to help students explore new innovative products while learning the fundamentals of business.
