Wedding Reception Sites in Massachusetts
Massachusetts features historic mansions and estates in all regions of the state and many of these sites provide venues for wedding receptions. The reception venues in this state range from Boston's upscale hotels to country estates in west Massachusetts' Berkshires area. Beachfront wedding ceremonies and receptions are available on Cape Code in the eastern part of the state. Massachusetts frigid winters limit outdoor receptions to the summer months.

The Colonnade Hotel is in Boston's Back Bay area, across Huntington Avenue from the Prudential Center mall. This boutique hotel hosts indoor wedding receptions in the Boston Ballroom, while outdoor reception space is available by the hotel's rooftop pool. The Boston Ballroom features crystal chandeliers and a wooden floor for dancing. The largest ballroom, the Huntington, has a banquet capacity for 650 guests.
The Hampshire House is in the Beacon Hill neighborhood, within walking distance of Boston Common and the Public Garden. Small receptions or a cocktail room is available in Tuckerman Hall's turret suites, located on the second floor.
Situated in Sturbridge, the Old Sturbridge Village is a historic museum that offers a glimpse of early 19th century life in central Massachusetts. The two primary reception venues at Old Sturbridge are the Oliver Wright Tavern and Bullard Tavern; both sites have a seating capacity of approximately 300 guests. The Village museum provides on-site catering at the taverns.

Coonamassett Farm is in East Falmouth, a small city in Cape Cod's Upper Cape area. This site is an operational 20-acre farm and provides a covered pavilion for wedding receptions. During the summer, the pavilion's kitchen is available to prepare food. The farm offers catering. The farm's pavilion has views of Coonamassett Farm's landscaped acreage.
Located in Cape Cod's Lower Cape area, the elegant Captain Linnell House is less than a mile from Skaket Beach. The mansion has a capacity of 200 guests for ceremonies and receptions. The mansion has an in-house wedding coordinator and catering staff. This venue is open year round, hosting receptions in the afternoon and evening hours.
West Massachusetts

The Garden House is on the grounds of Look Park, a large urban recreation area in Florence. This venue is in a 1930s building, which has been renovated from a pool house into its current status. Up to 170 people may be seated at the Garden House for a reception banquet; the main room has a wooden dance floor.
West Massachusetts' Winthrop Estate is a venue in the state's Berkshires area. This rural reception venue dates back to the 19th century, when it was a private estate. During the summer, the estate provides a tent pavilion for outdoor wedding receptions.
