Word an invitation with Sesame Street in mind.

Sesame Street has been a classic show for decades and is still a favorite among each new generation. Having a birthday party themed around Sesame Street can work great for younger children. If you're making your own invitations or just need to fill in information on purchased ones, use the language of Sesame Street when you write them out. Does this Spark an idea?

  1. Show Characters

    • Theme the invitation around a character from Sesame Street, and include what he might say in the invitation. For example, if you were using Elmo, you would write in third person, much like how Elmo talks. Write something like, "Elmo loves you and wants you to come to (child's name's party)." If you want to theme an invitation around Ernie, you may want to write, "Ernie and his rubber ducky invite you to (child's name's) birthday party."

    Show Quotes

    • Use signature sayings or recognizable quotes from the show. For example, if your child's name starts with an A and is turning three, then write, "This party is brought to you by the letter A and the number 3." You also can use the Sesame Street logo and put your child's name before the street on the sign. It would look like, "Child's Name Street." Then invite all your child's friends to come to his street for the birthday party.

    Show Lessons

    • Include a lesson with the wording of the invitation, like the show would. Do this with either numbers or words. Use a line like, "P is for Party and you're invited!" Or use the first letter in your child's name, such as "A is for Anne and you're invited to her party!" Use numbers too, like how old your child is turning. If she was turning three, write, "Triangles have this many sides, and someone is turning that same number!"

    Show Songs

    • Use famous songs from the show to word your Sesame Street invitation. Write out the opening song of the show and replace "Sesame" with your own street name. Use Cookie Monster's "C is for Cookie" song and replace the "C" with the first letter of your child's name and "Cookie" with your child's name. Change up the lyrics even more if you want to make it sound more like a birthday party invitation.
