Children's Long Hairstyles
Choosing a hairstyle for your child can sometimes be a challenging task. Kids don't typically enjoy spending hours styling their hair each day, but it is still important to let them choose a style that suits their personality and preferences. Long hair can often be easier to maintain than shorter hairstyles. Thankfully, there are many long hairstyles for kids that can be easily created and maintained. Does this Spark an idea?

Wavy
-
Wavy hair is a classic look for children of all ages. Many children have natural wavy hair that can be emphasized by spraying some water through it and gently working it through with your fingers. You can also choose to blow dry a child's hair into soft waves. Simply take a round brush and work it through the hair in a wavy motion under the hair dyer. Crimping irons are very popular for creating quick and easy waves. You can use hot rollers to create waves in the size of your child's choice. Use large rollers for large waves, and smaller ones for more defined waves. A simple way to get a wavy hairstyle is to braid your child's hair before she goes to sleep, and take the braids out in the morning for waves that will last all day.
Layered
-
Having layers cut into your child's hair makes for an easily maintainable everyday hairstyle. Visit a salon and have them cut a few layers into your child's hair. Layers add style and shape to the hair, making it fall around the face in a shapely manner without added work. Children won't even have to blow dry their hair if they don't want to, as the layers will create the style for them. More layers can be cut into the hair for a shaggy look, or they can be kept minimal for a more discreet style.

Straight
-
Straight hair creates a simple and elegant look for your child. If your child wants straight hair but has a bit of wave or curl to her hair, you can work a straightening serum or balm through her hair while it is wet. Then blow dry the hair on low heat to avoid heat damage. If necessary, you can also use a straightening iron for an extra sleek look. Usually if hair is straightened once it needn't be straightened for a few days if it isn't washed. This is ideal, as straightening with heat products only once or twice a week will save time, and help to protect the hair from damage.
Curly
-
Many children desire a head of long curly hair, a style that is very natural and effortless looking. If your child's hair is already wavy or naturally curly, simply scrunch some gel through it while it is damp for the curled effect. If your child's hair is straight, curls are still easily attainable. Much like with waves, hot rollers can be used to achieve curls of the size of their choice. You can also use a curling iron for some quick curls. Have kids sleep with some sponge rollers in wet or dry hair for a set of long-lasting ringlets. With any method of curling, mist some hairspray over the do to allow it to last longer, and therefore avoid having to set curls between washes. For a more permanent curly look, kids can have their hair permed, selecting the curl style of their choice.
