Degrees in technology management enable you to pursue a variety of higher-paying technology jobs. Skilled technology professionals are required for most businesses and organizations. They perform a variety of tasks in numerous work settings, such as troubleshooting and upgrading a computer system at a university, government agency or retail store, or overseeing all technical aspects of a business website.

Network Administrator

A network administrator oversees the administration, management and maintenance of computer network systems and data circuits. They are also referred to as network systems administrators, network software administrators and network administration leads. Responsibilities of a network administrator include upgrading, installing and troubleshooting networks as well as networking hardware devices and software. Network administrators also document vendor activities and maintain equipment inventory, and develop and documents system standards for computer and network devices.
Systems Engineer

A systems engineer designs, coordinates and oversees large projects called systems. Such systems can be part of a larger system, such as a jet liner from a larger airline company. Other examples of systems include water and food distribution networks, military defense programs, sewage systems, electric power systems, telephone systems and experimental manned space flights. System engineers coordinate the work of other engineers, each of whom is responsible for an aspect of the system.

The job of the webmaster is to maintain websites for companies and individuals. He must ensure the website is easy to navigate and fulfills the needs of the client and customers by continually monitoring and updating the website's performance. A webmaster must be knowledgeable about the industry or service the website provides, including any applicable marketing policies and sales objectives. Web masters often work with many members of the company as they are the only ones with the technical expertise to troubleshoot problems and answer questions.
Computer Systems Analyst

Computer systems analysts are responsible for analyzing business and scientific tasks and plan and develop the hardware systems and software for computers to complete such tasks. They often also work on improving existing computer systems. Computer systems analysts can find work in a variety of businesses and organizations including universities, retail businesses, consulting firms, government agencies and hospitals.
