Youth Group Activities for Valentine's Day
Valentine's Day youth group activities provide an environment for kids that doesn't focus on the pressures of courtship and having a "sweetheart." Youth groups usually partake in Valentine's Day activities by way of school, church or community centers. These activities provide a positive social environment for community youth to get together and enjoy themselves while usually staying supervised and out of trouble. Activities like dances are a creative and enjoyable way to get the group together, while allowing them to socialize and celebrate "love" day.

Talent Contest
-
Everyone has some type of talent. Set up a "Love" themed talent contest and have participants sign up. You can leave the performance categories open or offer categories like song, dance, poetry or theater for specific guidelines regarding the type of talent individuals should showcase. Give youth-oriented prizes such as gift cards or coupons to stores or establishments that cater to kids and teens.
Volunteer
-
One of the best ways to demonstrate love is to give. Talk with your youth group regarding ways to show love to the community. Reach out to different establishments, like a homeless shelter or retirement home, and set up a volunteer day. Depending on your outreach, purchase flowers, plants, candy or other food items to pass out as gifts to the recipients of your kindness.

Dance
-
Throw a Valentine's Day dance for your youth group. Hire a DJ or a local band, rent out an affordable venue and purchase some snacks and drinks for the dance. Mention that dates are not a requirement for the dance, so that everyone is comfortable just showing up and having fun. Dances help encourage kids to loosen up and enjoy themselves. Even if everyone doesn't dance, dances usually serve as an energetic environment for kids to play around, listen to good music and socialize.
Movie and Trivia
-
Research popular or even strange Valentine's themed movies, rent them and have a movie marathon day. Offer pizza, drinks and other snacks for attendees, or ask individuals to bring certain food and drink items. Play a movie trivia game after each show and offer prizes to participants. "High School Musical" and "Ever After" are a few movie choices that tweens and teens might enjoy.
