There are many color schemes suitable for a March wedding.

If you're getting married during the month of March, there are several reasons to be excited. First, your wedding may be the first wedding of the year attended by your friends and family. Second, springtime is a time of new beginnings, and setting your wedding at this time of year is a perfect way to start anew with your soon-to-be-spouse. And third, a March wedding gives you the opportunity to explore several spring-themed decoration ideas in a variety of colors.

  1. Purple and Yellow

    • Pansies are one of the earliest flowers to grow each spring, often popping up in yards and gardens in March. A common pansy color is purple and yellow, and if you follow this color idea, you'll have a wedding that reminds people of March. Your table linens can be understated in this color scheme, giving you an opportunity to use colorful, creative centerpiece ideas. Linens can be light yellow with white napkins or lace table overlays. Centerpieces can include purple pots with colorful pansies, daffodils or tulips, or purple and yellow jellybeans sprinkled around the table. If you're a flower lover, consider including pansy seed packets in your gifts for guests.

    Pink and Green

    • Pink and green are colors that remind many people of spring. Once the snow fades, green grass appears and the trees begin to get covered with green buds. Soon, the green buds may turn into pink flowers, as is the case with apple blossoms. With this color scheme, you can decorate tables in pink and green but, if possible, alternate them. Have half the tables covered in a light green tablecloth with pink napkins, and have the opposite look on the other half of the tables. Pink tulips are an ideal centerpiece option, and wrapping pink and green ribbons around the flower vases with reinforce your look.

    Brown and Blue

    • If done right, a brown and blue wedding can remind your guests of March. Dark, rich browns are apparent in nature as trees get ready to bloom, and light blues can represent robin eggs, which are symbolic of a new beginning. If you want to be bold, go for dark brown tablecloths with white linens and blue accents. If you want to keep the room a bit lighter, robin-egg blue linens with white accents and brown centerpieces can work. Flower options include blue hydrangeas, peonies or gardenias. Tables can be decorated with coffee beans or chocolate-covered coffee beans, both of which will give a pleasant smell to the room.

    Green and White

    • St. Patrick's Day decorations may often be gaudy, but if this Irish tradition is important to you, or you simply want to make your day unique, consider tasteful St. Patrick's Day colors. Tables can be covered in white linens with rich, green napkins. Instead of fresh-cut flowers at each table, place a potted shamrock plant that one guest from each table can keep at the end of the night. St. Patrick's Day-themed table confetti can be sprinkled around each table, and it's easy to incorporate a traditional Irish blessing into your wedding ceremony.
