Little Boy Birthday Ideas
When planning your little boy's next birthday, consider his hobbies before deciding on a theme. If he has a ton of toy race cars and race tracks, a NASCAR theme would be perfect. If he's into animals, a zoo or safari-themed party would work. Whatever the idea, carry that theme throughout to guide the party plans and decor. Does this Spark an idea?

Safari Party
-
If your son is into animals, create a safari-themed birthday party. Send out invitations that look like a plane ticket and entice guests to "Join the Adventure of a Lifetime" or "Join Tommy's Wildlife Safari Trip." Encourage kids to dress up in khaki outfits. Decorate the party room or backyard with green streamers draped from the ceiling and hanging from doorways. Cover the table with a jungle-themed tablecloth and party plates that you can find at a party store. Hang mosquito netting from the ceiling if possible and use any houseplants you have to give it a more jungle-like field. Upon arrival at the party, give each child a plastic safari-style hat. Hire someone from the local zoo to come to the party with a few jungle creatures, such as a snake and a tree frog. Play jungle-related games like Safari animal hunt, where you'll hide toy animals all around the room or backyard and teams of two will hunt for the animals. Whoever finds the most wins.
Outer Space Party
-
Send out spaceship-shaped invitations to the party inviting guests to "Blast Off to Michael's Planet." Dress the birthday boy in an astronaut costume for the party. Give the other kids either alien ears to wear or a badge that says, "Astronaut-in-training." Have a face painter paint the alien kids' faces green. If the party is outdoors, have a moon bounce where the kids can pretend to be on the moon. For decor, hang mini planets from the ceiling if possible, and tape up large posters of outer space, the NASA logo and space ships. Play games such as Musical Planets, where you'll place cutouts of several planets on the floor spaced out and have the kids dance around to music. When the music stops, they must find a planet to sit on. Take out a planet each round until only two players and one planet is left. Play music from "Star Wars" and other outer space-themed movies.

Medieval Party
-
For the little boy who loves sword fights and castles, send out invitations that invite guests to the "Knighting of Sir Christopher at the Johnson Castle," or something similar. The invitations could be sent as a scroll or in the shape of a castle. Decorate the party room with shields and family crests made of construction paper. Line the walkway to your home with small flags like the ones that were hung in medieval times. Dress your child like a knight and greet boy guests with a sash and little girls with a plastic tiara. You and your spouse should be King and Queen. Let the children have sword fights with inflatable swords. Another activity is to have kids design their own family crests that they can take home.
Firefighter Party
-
If you're little boy dreams of being a firefighter, dress him up in a fireman's jacket and hat for his birthday party. Send out firetruck invitations that say something along the lines of, "Put the Fire Out at Aiden's Birthday Party!" Put a plastic toy fire hydrant in front of your house with red and yellow balloons attached. Provide dress-up firefighter hats and fire chief badges for the kids to wear during the party. Ask the local fire station to send a few firefighters with the firetruck to your house for the party. The firefighters can teach the children about fire safety and let them get on the truck to see the inside. If the fire station is within walking distance, call beforehand to see if it's OK to walk over and take a tour.
