Dragon Wedding Themes
Deciding on the right theme for your wedding is a creative process that is limited only by your imagination. A dragon wedding theme can incorporate many elements of the wedding planning process, such as color combinations, venue location and personal taste. Whichever direction you decide to go for your dragon-themed wedding, just remember that the theme is often found in the smaller wedding details, such as color scheme and cake decor.

Chinese Dragon
-
Many couples may opt to have a cultural Chinese dragon-themed wedding if they are ethnically Asian or marrying into an Asian family. The dragon symbolizes masculinity (the groom) while a phoenix bird symbolizes femininity (the bride). If you decide to have this dragon-themed wedding, be sure to incorporate a lot of red hues for good luck as well as the Chinese symbol for "Double Happiness". Red lanterns and candles, as well as exotic and fiery flowers, are appropriate for this type of wedding. For the banquet, the bride could fashion a red cheongsam with gold dragon stitchings throughout.
Medieval Dragon
-
Have a destination wedding at a castle or another medieval-style location and incorporate the dragon theme with dragon ice sculptures as part of the decor. Choosing the proper location for this wedding theme is important. The right wedding venue should have a lot of fun medieval items to keep the guests entertained, such as medieval armors, swords and shields.

Fairy Tale Dragon
-
The fairy tale dragon themed wedding is whimsical and magical. This theme would be perfect for an outdoors wedding where you could incorporate natural elements into the decor. Colorful flowers, a variety of green-colored plants and twisted vines and braches work well with this fairy tale dream wedding. The princess, knight and dragon theme could be incorporated on the wedding invitations as well as on the wedding cake. The ordained minister could be dressed in a wizard outfit and the floral centerpieces could have glittery butterflies floating around.
Modern Day Dragon
-
This dragon-themed wedding is abstract and can be altered to match your personal taste, venue location and season. The dragon can be incorporated throughout the ceremony, such as in the table setting, the centerpieces and floral arrangements. Bold colors such as fiery red, bright orange and yellow can be used to represent the dragon's fire. Flowers, such as Birds of Paradise, are perfect for this setting. Or you can work with metallic colors and use Silver and luminescent black to represent the dragon's skin and gold to represent its breath of fire. Using these color schemes, you can add the dragon to the decor by encircling it around the wedding cake or choosing a dragon-themed table setting.
