The Best Baby Shower Games

The Best Baby Shower Games thumbnail
Celebrate your baby-to-be with some fun baby shower games.

Baby showers should be a lot of fun, both for the parents-to-be and the party guests. In addition to baby-themed foods and stork decorations, playing fun party games is a baby shower staple. Try to find some small gifts for the game winners, such as baskets of coffee and cookies, or bath and body products. Does this Spark an idea?

  1. Oh, Baby!

    • Create a mixed CD with songs that have "Baby" in the title. Some examples include Britany Spears' "... Baby One More Time" or Beyonce's "Baby Boy." Play a clip of each song and have your guests name that tune. This game can be played as individuals or in teams. The person or team with the most correct answers wins the game.

    Name That Doo

    • Melt or smash up a chocolate candy bar in a diaper. Smear it around so it is hard to tell what it is. Repeat these steps in several different diapers with different types of candy bars. Pass the "poo-filled" diapers around for guests to smell. The guests must smell the diaper and name the type of candy inside. The person with the most correct answers is the winner.

    Who's That Baby?

    • Collect baby photos of the attending party guests. Tape all the photos to a poster board and label each picture with a number. Give each guest a piece of paper and ask them to write down each of the numbers listed on the poster and the name of the guest they think belongs to that picture. The person with the most correct guesses wins the game.

    Name That Food

    • Remove the labels from 10 jars of baby food. Place the guests in teams of three or four and have them pass the jars around three times. The first time around, they have to guess the type of baby food based on what it looks like; the second time, they can remove the lid and smell the baby food and change their guess if they think they need to; and the third time, they may taste the baby food to fine tune their answers. The group with the most correct answers wins.

    Feed the Baby

    • Pair up all the guests and have all of them put on bibs. Pass out small bowls of applesauce and baby spoons to each person. Place the first pair at the front of the room and direct them to feed each other the applesauce at the same time. They'll think this is an easy task until you tell them they will both be blindfolded. Place blindfolds on the pair, then say "go." Start the timer when they start feeding each other. The pair who finishes all their applesauce first wins the game.
