Bringing your baby to a theme park requires preparation.

If you plan on taking your infant to one of the Disney theme parks, good preparation is essential. Unexpected accidents, leaks and spills can occur and, if you are not properly prepared, your exiting trip can easily turn into a nightmare. Disneyland and Disney World both have Baby Care Centers where you can bring your infant for diaper changing and feedings. If you forgot to pack something or need an extra diaper, you are most likely able to purchase it from the Baby Care Center.

  1. Food And Drinks

    • When taking your baby to a Disney theme park, try to keep him on his normal schedule. Allow him to take naps as he normally does and schedule his feedings at the times he normally eats. Doing this keeps you from having to deal with a cranky baby. Avoid running out of food by bringing a small cooler with more food, formula or breast milk, than you expect to use for the day. Freeze bottled water so you have cold water on-hand as it melts throughout the day, and bring any juice your baby drinks. Pack baby bottles, utensils and feeding bowls you need, and don't forget to pack bibs and burping cloths to catch any spills.

    Diaper Changes

    • Since you spend most of the day in the theme park, you need enough diapers to last you the whole day. Mouseplanet.com recommends you bring at least 10 diapers. Pack diaper rash cream and baby wipes to use for diaper changes and include small, plastic trash bags to wrap the dirty diapers in before tossing them out. Bring extra clothes to change your baby into, in case of accidents. A warm blanket or baby sweater is useful if the weather gets colder.

    Protection

    • Disneyland and Disney World are both located in parts of the country known for sunny weather. To protect your baby from getting sunburned, frequently apply baby sunscreen to her skin as the day goes by. Bring a stroller that can lay down flat in case your baby wants to take a nap. Use a stroller with an umbrella for additional protection from the sun. If you go on an attraction, put a bicycle lock on your stroller to keep it from getting swiped. If your infant travels well in a sling or baby carrier, bring one. Pack an infant first aid kit and any prescription medications your baby uses. Bring the name and phone number of your pediatrician and your health insurance card in case of medical emergencies.

    Toys and Photos

    • Because your baby is most likely not able to go on all the attractions at a Disney theme park, bring some baby toys to entertain him. Bring your infant's pacifier to sooth him and your camera to capture your baby's first meeting with Mickey Mouse and his friends.
