Water-Safe Cleaners
-
Water-safe cleaning solutions are those deigned for use on microfiber that are not sensitive to water. To determine if your microfiber is water safe, look at the care tag on the bottom of the couch. If it has a W on it, you can use water-based cleaning solutions. Water-safe cleaners generally contain ingredients such as water, ammonia or white vinegar.
Water-Sensitive Cleaners
-
Water-sensitive cleaners are designed for use on microfiber couches that are sensitive to water-based cleaning solutions. These cleaners are generally creams or powders that you blot onto stains. Work from the outside of the stain toward the center of the stain to make sure it doesn't spread or smear. To determine if your couch is water sensitive, look at its care tag, which is normally located on the bottom of the couch. If it has a S on it, you should use water-sensitive cleaners.

Lint Rollers & Vacuums
-
Lint rollers are effective in removing even very fine hairs, pieces of thread or larger debris from off the microfiber cloth. This method is effective because you can use it to clean either water-safe or water-sensitive microfiber couches. Alternatively, use the upholstery attachment on your vacuum to suck up loose debris.
Brushes
-
Microfiber brushes help restore the microfiber fabric's nap. Microfiber has a raised nap, which gives the couch the appearance of suede. Over time, the nap can get matted from sitting on it. Fix this by lightly brushing the entire couch with the microfiber brush, which will restore the nap.
