Employment Contract Training

An employment contract should outline the necessary training.

When a new employee is hired for permanent or temporary employment with a company, the employee must agree to undergo training. The training is necessary for the employee to abide and uphold the existing training procedures active in the company to protect both the employee and surrounding employees. The training contract must be completed and signed by both the new employee upon finishing the training and the employer as a sign that the safety procedures have been understood.

  1. Purpose and Use

    • The purpose of an employment contract with the focus on training is to ensure that the new employee understands the training procedures in place in the company. The training contract will outline what training programs or courses the employee needs to attend or complete before the contract can be signed as complete. The use of the contract is to ensure that the employee is following the required training and safety procedures outlined by the company.

    Company Policy Training

    • One part of an employment training contract outlines the procedures and steps any employee must take when dealing with internal information or confidential data. While some of these procedures are taught to the employee during the actual work over a period of months, others are taught before the employee enters the workplace. This is particularly applicable to human resources workers, who must know how to handle employee complaints and safety issues in the workplace.

    Safety Training

    • An employment training contract can also outline the practical safety training requirements or standards the employee must meet when working on the working site. This is particularly important for construction workers or employees who use heavy equipment. The safety training procedures can include wearing safety glasses, gloves, oxygen masks or steel-toed shoes. The safety requirements are in place to protect the employee on the work site, along with the other employees working on the site.

    Legality and Breach

    • The employment training contract is legal once it is signed by the employee and a representative of the company. One of the last sections of the contract explains what action the company can take against the employee, if the worker is not upholding or practicing the safety measures or procedures taught during the initial training period. This can include termination of the employment or legal action, if the actions of the employee prove to be dangerous towards other employees in the workplace.
