Ideas for Fundraisers for a Church Youth Group
When a church youth group needs to raise money, fundraising activities should foster cooperation and a sense of positive growth for the members. Each group member can participate in the fundraising efforts to the best of his ability. The youth should also inform the rest of the rest of the church and community members about the event so that the fundraising efforts will receive support that is more widespread.

Car Wash
-
Youth members can cool off with a car wash and raise money during hot summer months. If you are looking to raise money during the warmer months of the year, hold a car wash in your church parking lot. You will need to divide youth group members into two main groups. One group will decorate signs and use them to draw in traffic. The other group will actually do the car washing. Send out fliers or emails to all church members to help advertise the car wash. You can charge a set fee for the car wash (for example, $5 per vehicle) or you can allow drivers to give tips or donations for each wash.
Bake Time
-
Each youth member can bake a dessert to be sold at a church bake sale. If you are attempting to raise money and a holiday falls soon after your event, then tie your bake sale to that holiday. You can bake and sell boxes of homemade Christmas cookies or you can create heart-shaped Valentine cookies for Valentine's Day. The bake sale will give youth members a chance to practice their baking skills and to earn money for the group.

Ornament Sale
-
If you are attempting to raise money near the Christmas holiday, an ornament sale will be a good seasonal fundraiser. Youth members can make ornaments together, and then they can sell the ornaments to church members and to neighbors. The youth group can contact local florists or specialty shops to see if they would be interested in selling these ornaments in their stores.
Clean Out the Closets
-
Rummage sales can produce income needed for a youth activity. Each youth member can bring in items from home that they wish to sell. With the permission of the church, the rummage sale can be held in the church parking lot. Other church members may also donate items with the understanding that all of the proceeds will go to the youth group. Put an advertisement in the local paper to promote the event and post signs in local neighborhoods. An additional way to attract customers would be to send a press release to local news sources announcing this event.
